FOOL, FOOL, FOOL

The story behind the song

HISTORY

The song was first created by Ahmet Ertegun, who was a co-founder at Atlantic Records and used the pen name “Nugetre” for his songwriting work. The R&B group
The Clovers were the ones who recorded it back in 1951.

Elvis Presley recorded his version of this track on
January 6, 1955. He recorded it at KDAV Radio station, which was located in Lubbock, Texas.

The recording showcased his early rockabilly band setup: Elvis played guitar alongside Scotty Moore, while Bill Black handled the bass.

During his early years in the music business, this song was never put out as an official single for people to buy. Instead, it stayed hidden as an uncommon piece of rock and roll history until many years later when it finally came out officially. It appeared on special box sets, including the 1992 release called The King Of Rock ‘N’ Roll – The Complete 50’s Masters.
