MOVIE'S MISSING MUSIC SOUNDTRACK Initially, "FLAMING STAR" had four songs, but when Elvis expressed how he wanted to be taken seriously as an actor, two of the songs were removed from the film (probably because the songs’ scenes were silly). PLOT SOUNDTRACK (CONTINUES) The title song "FLAMING STAR" and "A CANE AND A HIGH STARCHED COLLAR" remained in the film. "BRITCHES" was cut from the movie because they required Elvis to sing it while riding a horse; Elvis thought it looked dumb. "SUMMER KISSES WINTER TEARS" was dropped from the movie when the preview audience laughed at the ridiculous scene where Elvis sang it around the Kiowa's campfire while the tribe's chief accompanied the song on war drums. "A CANE AND A HIGH STARCHED COLLAR" (Click for Movie Scene) MOVIE DIRECTORY SOUNDTRACK In 1960, the film Flaming Star, starring Elvis Presley, didn't have an official soundtrack album released at that time. Still, the title song was eventually included in various compilation albums. The complete film score was created by Cyril J. Mockridge. The title track was released on an EP in 1961 and later appeared on a full-length compilation album in 1969. PREVIOUS RETURN TO MOVIE DIRECTORY
