"ALOHA SATELLITE SPECIAL"
Elvis Presley sold his life's work to pay off his divorce settlement. It was one of the worst decisions made in music history. Elvis's entire catalog was sold. From the beginning of his career with his first Sun hits to Thursday, March 1, 1973. Sold for a paltry $5.4 million to RCA. After the sale, RCA owned the music outright and would never have to pay Elvis a single dime in royalties for the songs ever again. Of course, Parker got 50%. Elvis got 50%, which was used up in income taxes and to help him pay Priscilla off in the divorce punishment.
RCA BUYOUT
Desert Storm was the only time publicly where Elvis said anything about the divorce settlement.
